where nature and

history

meet

Famous for its long stretches of golden beach, the coastline of Sabaudia is a jewel set between the blue of the crystal-clear sea and the lush greenery of the Circeo National Park, one of the oldest and most evocative parks in Italy. Miles and miles of fine golden sand extend along an unspoiled shoreline, shaped by natural dunes: the Dunes of Sabaudia. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site, they are home to rich biodiversity and an environment with a microclimate unique in Italy — the perfect destination for those seeking relaxation and tranquillity.

circeo national

park

A true paradise for nature lovers. Established in 1934, Circeo National Park is one of the oldest parks in Italy and covers more than 8,000 hectares. The lowland forest, known as the Forest of Circe, is an enchanting place where centuries-old oak trees and dense Mediterranean vegetation create a truly evocative atmosphere. The park is also home to the Coastal Dunes, one of the few remaining Italian coastal areas where the dune landscape is still untouched, offering breathtaking views. Mount Circeo, which dominates the park, is a natural wonder not to be missed. According to legend, it was the home of the sorceress Circe, as told in Homer’s Odyssey.

lake

paola

Lake Paola, also known as Lake Sabaudia, located behind Hotel Le Dune, is a coastal lagoon stretching alongside the town of Sabaudia. Surrounded by rich vegetation, it is the ideal habitat for numerous bird species, making it a popular destination for birdwatching enthusiasts. The calm waters of the lake offer the opportunity to enjoy water sports such as canoeing and kayaking, while along its shores lie ancient Roman remains, including the Villa of Domitian. The Hotel Le Dune villas overlook Lake Paola directly, with a private access path reserved for our guests.

the pontine

islands

From the Circeo promontory, on clear days, you can catch sight of the Pontine Islands, a volcanic archipelago that includes Ponza, Ventotene, Zannone, Gavi, Palmarola, and Santo Stefano. These islands can be easily reached by ferry from San Felice Circeo or Terracina, or privately through tours organized by the hotel, and they offer turquoise waters, spectacular sea caves, and unique landscapes. Ideal for a day trip.
